Slow and Steady Won't Win This Race: Urgent Action on Air Pollution.

Written by Priya Singh, Content Writer | March 2, 2023

In this week's poll, we asked people what their top priority was, and the results were surprising. Sixty percent of respondents voted for air as their top priority, over food and water. This goes to show how people are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of clean air and the need for immediate action.

Clean air is something that we often take for granted. We breathe it in without giving it much thought, but the reality is that air pollution is a much more serious problem that is repeatedly warning us of the detrimental effects on our health and the environment. Exposure to polluted air can lead to respiratory problems, heart disease, and even cancer. It's not just humans who are affected by air pollution; it also has a significant impact on plants and animals.

There are many sources of air pollution that we’re exposed to on a daily basis. From factories and cars to burning fossil fuels. As our cities continue to grow and our reliance on cars and other forms of transportation increases, the problem of air pollution is only going to get worse if it is not met with immediate action.

Thankfully, people are starting to wake up to the problem and are taking steps to reduce their impact on the environment. From using public transportation to implementing stricter emissions control policies and investing in clean air solutions, there are many ways that we can all do our part to reduce air pollution.

But, there is much more that needs to be initiated. Governments and industries need to step up and take concrete actions to prevent further damage to our air quality. We need stricter regulations on emissions, investments in clean energy sources, and sustainable transportation options.

We all have a role to play in improving air quality. Though the pace of action towards it may seem tortoise-like, the story of tortoise and the hare seems too good to be true considering the present scenario. It's time to take action and make a change before it's too late. We owe it to ourselves, and the future of our planet to create a cleaner and healthier world.

As air pollution won’t stop for us to act, we shouldn’t stop either from acting towards it!
